From Bank Building to Design Hotel
Elegant tones and warm nuances meet Nordic design in the new five-star hotel NH Collection Copenhagen, which HOLMRIS B8 has helped realize.
As an exclusive oasis, the new design hotel is uniquely situated in the Copenhagen canal area popularly known as the “desert fort”, formerly home to the B&W shipyard and Nordea’s headquarters.
NH Collection Copenhagen is Spanish NH Hotel Group’s first hotel in Denmark, featuring homey surroundings that unite attractive facilities and inspiring design with personal service.
In the metamorphosis from bank headquarters to hotel, the facade has undergone significant renovation with respect for the original architecture, while the safe deposit boxes and offices within have been transformed into 394 well-appointed rooms and suites, as well as two restaurants, a breakfast restaurant, hotel bar, lounge area and conference facilities.
Distinctive Design Style
In a distinctive design that pervades the entire hotel, large window sections, decor in wood, leather and stone, and soft textiles unite the bright rooms and clean lines with warm colors and a particularly homey feel that gives guests a warm welcome.
Despite the global pandemic, HOLMRIS B8 successfully delivered and installed all the furniture in the hotel’s rooms, suites, restaurants, conference facilities, bar and public areas in just four months. Arkitema and Henning Larsen are the architects behind the conversion, while the interior design concept was developed by Swedish studio Krook & Tjäder.
NH Collection Copenhagen opened on September 1, 2021.
